The European Databases Center

The European Databases Center was a joint venture between the Massachusetts Institute for Social and Economic Research (MISER), and the Five Colleges European Club. In the era before the internet, academics and small and medium businesses in the United States did not have access to valuable information about the then European Community (EC). The European Databases Center, under the directorship of Dimos Silvestriadis, established agreements with the European Community's statistical offices and provided this data in the United States utilizing the expertise of the Five Colleges European Club and the infrastructure of MISER. The expansion of the internet led to the closing of the Center.
